Giveaways in Bloggyland

I added a new page to Sueberry Lane earlier: Giveaways In Bloggyland. Now instead of a bunch of individual posts, I’ll list all of the giveaways I’m entering each month on one linky. This way I can just start a new linky each month. Keeping track of which contest I’ve entered will be much easier now.

Of course, I’m hoping to have visitors to Sueberry Lane add any giveaways that they are hosting to the linky as well. The more the merrier!

Happy Monday!

Tuesday Ten: Turkey Day Fun

Cheesy jokes I know, but somebody has to do it. Enjoy!

1. Why did the turkey cross the road?
-To prove he wasn’t chicken!

2. If April showers bring May flowers… what May flowers bring?
-Pilgrims!

3. Knock, Knock.
Who’s there?
Waddle
Waddle Who?
Waddle I do if you don’t open the door?

4. Which side of the turkey has the most feathers?
-The outside!

5. Where did the first corn come from?
-The stalk brought it!

6. What is the sleepiest thing at the Thanksgiving Day table?
-Nap-kins!

7. On Thanksgiving, what always in the middle of the table?
-The letter B!

8. If twenty Thanksgiving turkeys told terrible tales, how many “T’s” would there be in all?
-None, there no “T’s” in the word all!

9. Knock, Knock
Who’s there?
Norma Lee.
Norma Lee Who?
Norma Lee I don’t eat this much!

10. When did the Pilgrims first say “God Bless America?”
-When they first heard America sneeze!

2 on Tuesday: Pet Peeves

2 on Tuesday
I found a new blog hop!

This week’s question is: What are your pet peeves?

1. People who don’t do what they say they will.
If you say that you are going to be somewhere at a certain time… do your best to make it happen. If you’re not going to be able to be there or are going to be late just give me a call and let me know. Its no biggie if you let me know ahead of time. I just don’t like surprises.

2-A. Dirty clothes right next to the laundry hamper.
Just two more inches and you could have made there. Come on… make a game out of it. Two points if you make it in the basket.

2-B. Bugs the heck out of me when people put trash in the recycle bin.
(another pet peeve about putting things where they belong)
They are clearly marked – one is blue and the other green with a big recycle here picture on it. Open your eyes folks.

Hmm… these pet peeves are kinda telling. Guess the kiddo and I share some Aspie traits. lol

Tuesday Ten ~ Energy Saving Tips for Kids

I don’t know how it is in your neck of the woods, but around here our electric bill was something else this summer. Hubby’s on a “must save energy” also known as “must save money on the utility bill” kick lately. He’s been going around replacing our light bulbs with more energy efficient ones bit by bit (those boogers aren’t cheap). We’re doing better about remembering to turn off the lights when not in use. I’m a major offender in thinking I need to leave the TV on for background noise at night – must break that habit.

I’ve spent the morning looking for ways to get the kids involved in our energy saving mission. Here’s what I’ve found so far:

1. Help Save Energy Coloring Sheet

2. Energy Hog Printable Workbook

3. Energy Bears Activity Book

4. Printable Light Bulb Maze & Electricity Word Search

5. Light Switch Cover & Energy Saving Checklist

6. Lorax – Energy Star Printable Workbook

7. Horton’s Guide To Saving Our Planet

8. A Beautiful World Starts With You – Activity Book

9. Energy Vampire Hunt

10. For number ten I found this cartoon with the idea to drop a penny in a jar every time one of the kids turns off a light or does some other energy saving task. At the end of the month they get to keep the pennies. I’m thinking we might try this one.
